Life in Kota - Coaching, eat, sleep, study, repeat

Life is Kota is pretty much cyclic in nature. Right from the time when you enter the mindset of making it through some of the most competitive exams in the country and start your coaching classes, the journey begins.
It revolves around four basic elements:

1)      Coaching – Once you join a coaching center out of the humongous options of coachings that you have, it is time to start with the classes. The classes are usually one and a half hour duration each and you may have to attend 4-6 hours of coaching daily, usually put together in continuation. Unless, of course, you want to attend the classes of a different faculty members in which case, it is spread throughout the day at times. Once you are done with the lectures, notes taking and understanding of the topics, it’s time to go back and continue with other regimes of the day. There are a pleathora of practice questions, DPPs(Daily Practice Problems, sheets on every topic and recommended books) given as a homework for you to solve.

2)      Eat – It’s time to get recharged with your daily meals. From lunch being offered at various mess ranging from 2,200 rupees to over 3,000 rupees a month, you have the option to choose between dining at a mess or getting a tiffin delivered to your room. There are a number of snacks center available across the city as well. Ranging from vendors selling Sandwiches, burgers, parathe, pohe to patties and pani patashe(gol-gappe), you get it all at a very cheap price. Kachoris and samosa stalls can be found in every second lane.
Having rejuvenated with a proper meal, it’s time to get back to the daily grind of solving your part of the home work.

3)      Sleep – Having a proper sleep is necessary for your preparation in the exams. Because if you compromise with your sleep, you compromise with your productivity. And that will affect your results and life overall in the long run. Hence, a proper sleep schedule is very very necessary.
Once you are refreshed with proper sleep, it is time to follow the other part of the schedule.

4)      Study – Any competition or goal requires a proper game plan and better execution. Self-study is the execution part of the plan. This is where you get ahead of everyone else. The better you plan and harder you work on your homework, understanding the concepts and revisions, the better are your chances to get through and achieve what you are here for.
Completing the daily home-work is very very necessary unless you want to be left behind. Because if you don’t complete today’s work today itself, there is more coming tomorrow. It all piles up and before you know it, there is so much to do in so less time. So, keep up-to-date with the studies.

5)      Repeat – This is pretty much how it should be, or how it is in Kota. Oh wait! There is more! Where is the daily exercise, some fun, probably watching a movie, an occasional walk in the park, calling a friend or more?
Don’t worry! I have it all covered in the “Study hack” section and Tips and Tricks for you. I’ll take care of the exercises and better memory and everything else that you may need.
After all, I have lived through the same time myself.
